What Publications does APhA Publish

The APhA Periodicals Department publishes two journals (JAPhA and JPharmSci), two magazines (Pharmacy Today and Student Pharmacist), APhA DrugInfoLine, and news content on pharmacist.com.

Journal of the American Pharmacists Association (JAPhA)

JAPhA includes peer-reviewed articles on drug therapy, clinical and practice issues, outcomes research, and news analysis. The journal has a practice-oriented format designed to help pharmacists provide state-of-the-art pharmaceutical care and enhance their business practices. JAPhA is published bimonthly in print and on www.japha.org, with early online content posted daily. Peer review is handled by Periodicals staff; web hosting and final production is handled by Elsevier.

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (JPharmSci)

JPharmSci includes peer-reviewed articles on basic pharmaceutical sciences. Unlike JAPhA, JPharmSci is not practice oriented but rather focuses on the basic science of drug discovery, pharmacology, and drug delivery. JPharmSciis published monthly online only on www.jpharmsci.org, with early online content posted daily. Peer review is handled by Periodicals staff; web hosting and final production is handled by Elsevier.

APhA DrugInfoLine (ADIL)

ADIL provides short, timely updates on drug therapy developments in several common disease categories—bone and joint disorders, cardiovascular disease, endocrinology, infectious disease, neurology, psychiatry, pulmonary disease, and alternative medicine—and periodically includes short focus articles on key therapeutic areas. The Medication Monitor section details FDA actions, including product approvals, recalls, and withdrawals. ADIL is published online only at www.aphadruginfoline.org with new content weekly (or more often for FDA updates in the Medication Monitor section).

Pharmacy Today (PT)

Pharmacy Today reports on the news and opinions vital to all pharmacists in today’s competitive marketplace with a special focus on pharmacists’ patient care services. It provides news and information to improve medication use and advance patient care. PTis published monthly in two editions: the National Edition (NE) and the Health-System Edition (HSE), which includes special articles targeting the needs of health system pharmacists. Advertising is handled by Elsevier.

Student Pharmacist
